Beaumont Hospitals’ employees and affiliates are encouraged to bring inventions to the Beaumont Commercialization Center. When Beaumont’s resources are used to bring to market an invention, working with the Beaumont Commercialization Center is an institutional requirement. In addition, inventors will want to take advantage of the convenience and risk-sharing that the Beaumont Commercialization Center provides.

  • The Beaumont Commercialization Center provides speed and convenience for bringing selected inventions to market, maximizing the inventor’s effectiveness and allowing him or her to continue to focus on patient care.
  • The Beaumont Commercialization Center provides an experienced team to choose the most effective patenting and licensing strategies.
  • The Beaumont Commercialization Center provides the turnkey product development services that may be needed to move the invention to a successful licensing agreement.
  • The Beaumont Commercialization Center pays the patent cost and legal fees for selected invention disclosures.
  • If added product development costs are necessary in reaching a licensing agreement, the Beaumont Commercialization Center may also pay these expenses.

Process Overview


The Beaumont Commercialization Center provides, free of charge, patenting and licensing services for Beaumont inventions that have market viability.


The first step in bringing your idea to life is to submit an Invention Disclosure to the Beaumont Commercialization Center, just contact us and we will send you an electronic copy.


Upon submission, you will be contacted to let you know if your submission is a candidate for filing a patent application, after our teams carries out some initial due diligence.


Important note: Do not publicly disclose your invention in presentation or publication. Please inform the Beaumont Commercialization Center staff of public disclosure prior to disclosure to anyone.
